Two weeks into training camp and already the San Francisco 49ers have lost two players for the season.

First it was running back Kendall Hunter, now it’s defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey, who left Friday’s practice with an arm injury that turned out to be much worse than originally thought to be.

Dorsey has a torn left biceps muscle and according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Dorsey is done for the season.

It’s a huge blow to the 49ers, who are already without linebacker Navorro Bowman for the first half of the season.

San Francisco has depth at defensive tackle and should get back Ian Williams, who started last season over Dorsey before his season ended in Week 2. The 49ers also have Quinton Dial, a 2013 5th round pick from Alabama.

The good news if any, is that the 49ers play a 3-4 defense often rotating their defensive ends into the defensive tackle positions, playing guys like Tony Jerod-Eddie and Justin Smith at multiple positions on the line.

San Francisco will be fine, the injury hurts, no question, but the 49ers always seem to have a backup plan.
