The San Francisco 49ers have locked down quarterback Colin Kaepernick for the foreseeable future. That is great news for Niner fans, but Kaepernick’s success is highly dependent on quarterback whisperer, coach Jim Harbaugh.
It is believed that Harbaugh is desiring a financially lucrative contract, similar to a Super Bowl-winning coach, despite not actually winning a Super Bowl. Harbaugh also insisted earlier in March that he will not leave San Francisco before his contract runs out in 2016.
Harbaugh is coming off leading the 49ers to three straight trips to the NFC title game, with his leadership and enthusiasm, the Niners have become a consistent contender in the NFL.
Until we hear about a new deal for Harbaugh, it is fair to be uncertain about how much longer the good times will last. It’s not an urgent situation, but it could get out of hand. If the team allows him to hit free agency, he will be very hard to retain if he ends up on the market. Even though he hasn’t won a Super Bowl, I am sure several teams in the league are willing to give him the deal he desires. It is only a matter of time before Harbaugh gets back to the Super Bowl. Hopefully the Niners win it all this year!
The Niners have some of the priciest tickets this year according to Razorgator, with their home game against the Seahawks currently averaging $568. If demand for tickets stays that high, maybe the Niners will be willing to pay whatever they want for Harbaugh.
