49ers: NFL Mock Draft (suprise...49ers moving up)

Well here it is, my first ever mock draft with explanation. Only note to make is that I believe Watkins and Mack will go one after the other, whether it’s Watkins then Mack, or Mack then Watkins.

Enjoy the draft everybody!

1. Houston Texans— Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina (best available player, pair opposite JJ Watt)

2. St. Louis Rams— Jake Matthews, T, Texas A&M (others like Robinson from Auburn, I’m going with the Matthews bloodlines)

3. Jacksonville Jaguars— Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson (Jaguars needs weapons on offense, Justin Blackmon out for 2014)

4. Cleveland Browns— Khalil Mack, LB, Buffalo (As of last night, I had Manziel going to Cleveland, then Jay Glazer spoke)

5. Oakland Raiders— Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M (Raiders want to win now, need weapons at WR for Matt Schaub)

6. Atlanta Falcons— Greg Robinson, T, Auburn (protect the franchise Matt Ryan, if Rams take Robinson, then Matthews is the pick here)

7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers—  Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M (Bucs not sold on Mike Glennon and Josh McCown short term answer)

8. Minnesota Vikings— Blake Bortles, QB, UCF (Vikings hope they aren’t in this position for a long time, having to draft a QB in 1st round)

9. Buffalo Bills— Taylor Lewan, T, Michigan (protect EJ Manuel)

10. Detroit Lions— Darqueze Dennard, CB, Michigan St. (Lions need to compete with Chicago and Green Bay receivers twice a season)

11. Tennessee Titans— Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma St. (Titans could go 10 different ways including OT, chose best cover corner in the draft)

12. NY Giants— Zack Martin, T, Notre Dame (could go Beckman or Donald (DT), choose OL help instead)

13. St. Louis Rams— Xavier Su’a-Filo, G, UCLA (pulling a 49ers 2010 draft, take two lineman in first round)

14. Chicago Bears— Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville, (Bears land a ball-hawking safety)

15. Pittsburgh Steelers— Eric Ebron, TE, North Carolina (Steelers look to make the transition from Heath Miller to Ebron)

16. Dallas Cowboys— Aaron Donald, DT, Pittsburgh (Cowboys need defense, defense, and more defense)

17. San Francisco 49ers— Odell Beckham, WR, LSU (trade with Baltimore)

18. NY Jets— Brandin Cooks, WR, Oregon St. (Jets need speed at WR and Cooks can double as a return man)

19. Miami Dolphins— Cyrus Kouandjio, T, Alabama (O-line was a mess last season)

20. Arizona Cardinals— Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State (no pressure to play, great mentor in Carson Palmer)

21. Green Bay Packers— C.J. Mosley, LB, Alabama

22. Philadelphia Eagles— Marqise Lee, WR, USC (Chip Kelly loves Pac-12 players)

23. Kansas City Chiefs— Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, S, Alabama (a steal at 23)

24. Cincinnati Bengals— Anthony Barr, LB, UCLA

25. San Diego Chargers— Bradley Roby, CB, Ohio St. (Chargers need a big CB to matchup with KC and Denver)

26. Cleveland Browns- Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville (Pryor replaces the loss of TJ Ward, Browns take QB in 2nd round)

27. New Orleans Saints— Jason Verrett, CB, TCU (adds much needed depth at a position that was wrecked with injuries)

28. Carolina Panthers- Kelvin Benjamin, WR, Florida St. (Panthers need WRs)

29. New England Patriots— Jace Amaro, TE, Texas Tech (Brady needs his two-TE set)

30. Baltimore Ravens— Corey Latimer, WR, Indiana (Baltimore trades with 49ers, get receiver they always wanted)

31. Denver Broncos—  Ryan Shazier, LB, Ohio St.

32. Seattle Seahawks—  Ra’Shede Hageman, DT, Minnesota (How does the best defense in football improve? By adding more defense)
