The 9-1-1 calls reporting the nude female who later went to the police after a night with Colin Kaepernick and Quinton Patton of the San Francisco 49ers in Miami has been obtained by WINZ-AM. You likely recall the situation, with Kaepernick under scrutiny for potential sexual assault–which was never alleged and does not seem to be the case whatsoever. These two phone calls, apparently made by Ricardo Lockette–though in the first call, the caller claims to be a security guard–seemingly put Kaepernick even more in the clear. Via ESPN.com:
She said her name was Jesus, and she don’t have no clothes on . . . She’s visiting this gentleman here.
Call 2 (made by a different male):
There’s a young lady in my friend’s bed. She says she’s not leaving until she sees him . . . No, no, he’s not her boyfriend. He’s someone she wants to sleep with.
Make of these statements what you will, but unless this was an elaborately planned hoax on the part of Kaepernick, Patton, and Lockette that did not work out very well, it seems to be the case that the woman was not abused and simply ended up being a nuisance to the three friends.
In any case, Kaepernick seems quite innocent of an extremely serious wrong. Alleged marijuana seems exceedingly minor in comparison to sexual assault–something we should all take incredibly seriously. It is a good thing Kaepernick’s sponsors have stood behind him throughout this scenario. Kaepernick’s name has been attacked enough by TMZ, it did not need any further unnecessary damage.
