The NFL has scheduled the San Francisco 49ers to have 4 primetime games, plus a nationally televised game against the Chargers in Week 16. The 49ers have been a common team to appear on primetime television after Jim Harbaugh brought the once-moribund franchise to the NFC Championship Game in his first season. In 2012 the 49ers were scheduled to have 5 prime time games, with the same number originally being allotted them last year. Thus, this is the third season in a row with 5 nationally televised games. Of course, with flex scheduling in the last few weeks of the NFL regular season, the 49ers have a chance to pick up another primetime game, especially if the division race is close.
The 49ers by no means have an easy road ahead of them this year. The division is the best in the NFL. On the bright side, we do get to see them battle it out on the gridiron on national television on a few different occasions. For those 49ers fans who do not live in the Bay Area, this is incredibly valuable.
