Jim Harbaugh: NaVorro Bowman Likely to Return ‘Halfway Through the Season’

Jim Harbaugh is currently in Indianapolis for the NFL Scouting Combine where he is evaluating players who could potentially be drafted by the San Francisco 49ers. While at the combine, Harbaugh was asked about NaVorro Bowman and when the coach expects him back on the field. He said,

Halfway through the season or something like that would be more realistic. He’s just a supreme athlete, a world-class athlete among other world-class athletes. We’ll take good care of him. That would be the smart thing, wouldn’t it?

Bowman tore his ACL in his left knee in the NFC Championship game on a goal line stand by the 49ers defense. Despite his left knee giving out on the play, Bowman showed his toughness by hanging onto the football after recovering a fumble.

Last season, Bowman led the Niners with a 145 combined tackles. He recorded five sacks, forced four fumbles and recovered two fumbles. One of his two interceptions included the Pick at the ‘Stick which was returned for an 89-yard touchdown. The INT sealed the legacy of Candlestick Park on the final game ever played at the stadium.

Here’s to Bowman making a speedy recovery and not suffering any setbacks. Let’s hope the 49ers Faithful sees him on the field sooner rather than later.
