49ers Poll: What is the Top Position the Niners Must Focus on During Offseason?

The official end of the 2013 NFL season is coming on Sunday with Super Bowl XVLIII being played between the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks. For the 49ers, their offseason started two weeks ago and it will only gain steam each week.

First up for the 49ers will be free agency, which starts on March 11. After that are the combines that will help prepare the Niners for the NFL draft taking place, May 8-10. General Manager Trent Baalke already knows which positions he will focus on during the offseason and he likely has a blueprint on how to accomplish this. But what is the top position for the 49ers to fill? Should that position be filled in the draft? Through free agency? These questions will all be answered over the coming months.

Tell us what you think 49ers Faithful by answering the poll below and sharing your thoughts in the comment section.

Fast WR to take the top off, stretch the defense, and open up the middle for crossing routes for Crabtree & (the re-signed) Boldin, please.

I have said the last 2 drafts that the 49ers should have taken a true center, not some guard or tackle that they want to convert. Yet the usual feedback i heard from Matt Barrows and Maiocco is that the 49ers were prepping Kilgore for the position and rest assured Kilgore was going to take over just fine for Goodwin . I don’t know if he is ready, there is really no indication that he is.

No need to use any of your top 5 rounds on a Defensive lineman, they need to filter through the ones they have already.

TE- does anyone want to put their trust in the 49er TE backups Vance McDonald and Garrett Celek ? They should have taken a TE in 2012 .

QB- Do the 49ers need 3 Qb’s ? I think they should draft a QB, but I think other positions have priority.

WR – They need to draft a big fast WR, but will that help when you have an Offensive Coordinator who doesn’t like to throw the ball ?

DB – Time to clean house; Rogers will not return, I doubt Brown will either, I doubt Cox will return. Whitner is the most likely of the free agent DB’s to return, but is he worth it.? If referees keep targeting him for roughness calls he becomes a liability plus the fact that he is not a very good coverage player. I like Cullivers natural abilities but he needs to play smarter. Darryl Morris seems to play well, and definitely has the speed to cover. We kept hearing all the hype about Eric Wright and I’m sure they bring him back, he better get better or this will be another mistake on Baalkes part. Everyone is Goo-Goo over Tramaine Brock, I’m not sold on him, he loves to jump routes and does good coverage under 10 yards, when a WR gets further than 10 yards down field Brock get confused and lost.
THE 49ers need to concentrate on drafting DB’s and a WR.
