The San Francisco 49ers weren’t ready to let the Seahawks announce themselves as division champs.  The 49ers held serve against the Seattle Seahawks with a much needed 19-17 win. The defense held Russell Wilson in check throughout the afternoon and gave the struggling offense a chance to go win the game.

While Colin Kaepernick did pick up a key 3rd down to keep the clock moving, it was the Inconvenient Truth Frank Gore coming up with the game changing play that put them in position to win the game. Even with the win the team still struggled against the top ranked opponent and  therefore fell a couple of spots in our rankings. Please note that while they moved down spots they actually improved by overall points whereas Seattle lost some of its lead it had over the field.

The biggest movers of the week included the Miami Dolphins, who moved up 5 slots with a win at Pittsburgh while St Louis dropped 4 spots following a 30-10 defeat to the Cardinals. One notable mover is San Diego who is up to #7 despite a losing record. The Redskins dropped 3 spots to 24, their lowest spot of the season as they announced this week RGIII would be benched for the season.

The 49ers next 2 opponents are both in the bottom 12 which should allow the 49ers to move up. They are currently only 4 points out of 8th in the league.
