San Francisco 49ers roster moves on Tuesday:
Tank Carradine placed on Injured Reserve-
The rookie defensive lineman hadn’t seen any action all year and it looks like he will have to wait until next year to suit up after being placed on the IR. A 2nd round pick out of Florida State, Carradine tore his ACL in 2012. Doctors recently came to the conclusion after recent examination that it would be more suitable for him to continue the rehab process and be 100% come next training camp.
Signed Guard Ryan Seymour-
To fill the vacant spot left by Carradine the 49ers claimed Ryan Seymour off the Seattle Seahawks practice squad. The big, bruising rookie (6-4, 301) from Vanderbilt was taken in the 7th round by the Seahawks this past draft. Seymour will likely add more security to the offensive line rotation while Mike Iupati recovers from his sprained MCL. It seems as though the Niners and Seahawks are exchanging players more often than they stick with their own.
Signed Wide Receiver Devon Wylie-
Wylie also a Seahawk most recently (released off their practice squad on Saturday) was signed by the 49ers to their practice squad. This move was initiated after the signing of former Niners Safety Michael Thomas by the Miami Dolphins. Wylie was a former 4th round pick in the 2012 draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. He is an atypical slot receiver standing at 5’9 187 lbs. and should bring some speed and versatility to the position.
