The San Francisco 49ers have one big thing to be thankful for: Michael Crabtree was a full participant in practice today. This could be a big turning point in the season. The 49ers have struggled, obviously, and especially in the passing game up until this point. Colin Kaepernick has not been as effective as he was. His lack of receiving weapons has not helped. With Crabtree back and practicing fully—if, perhaps, not fully effectively yet—the 49ers have a chance to get hot at just the right time: a few weeks from now when the playoffs are about to start. As long as the 49ers can make the playoffs, even if only as a sixth seed, they appear to have a good shot to make a deep run.
There are, of course, other things that the 49ers can be thankful for this year. Nothing, however, compares to receiving back perhaps the most irreplaceable player on the team (Colin Kaepernick excluded). Throw in the potential of rookie Quinton Patton and this receiving corps could easily go from worst in the league to a good group of half-decent depth.
So be thankful tomorrow, 49er fans, that the 49ers have a chance to do something special with the whole family back in town.
