Anquan Boldin loves to play at FedEx Field against the hometown Washington Redskins.
Last season as a member of the Baltimore Ravens, Boldin burned the Redskins secondary for two of his four touchdowns on the season. On Monday night, now with the San Francisco 49ers, Boldin again burned Washington’s secondary for a pair of touchdowns.
In his last two meetings against the Redskins at FedEx Field, Boldin has 8 catches for 172 yards and four touchdowns.
On Monday, Boldin caught five passes for 94 yards and two touchdowns, including a back breaker in the third quarter to put the 49ers up 17-6. Boldin had his best average yards per catch on the season at 18.8 yards. Against Washington last season, Boldin also set a season high in yards per catch with 26.0 after catching three balls for 78 yards and two scores.
Boldin currently leads the 49ers in receptions (52) and yards (724) and is alone in second with five touchdowns.
Through 11 games, only Boldin (5) and tight end Vernon Davis (9) have caught touchdown passes from quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
San Francisco next plays at home against the St. Louis Rams, who Boldin torched for 90 yards and a touchdown in Week 4’s 35-11 victory.
