Power Ranking By the Numbers Week 11

Another week down in the NFL season and the 49ers fall back down to seventh in our standings. They were up to 4th coming off the bye week only trailing the Saints, Seahawks, and Panthers, but a 10-9 loss to the aforementioned Panthers put them back to seventh for the 3rd time in 4 weeks. This week will prove to be troublesome as well as the 49ers travel to New Orleans to play the 1st place Saints. As shown below the Saints do everything well and are in the top 7 in the league in every category listed. They are coming off a record setting performance in which they put up 625 yards and 40 first downs to go with their 49-17 thumping of the Cowboys.

In all there wasn’t too much change in the rankings. Teams 4-8 continue to shuffle weekly as they are only separated by 7 total points. The biggest movers were St Louis jumping 8 spots up to 18 and Atlanta continues to freefall down seven spots to 28th.

This week above any other might give some clarity among our top 10 in the rankings. There are 3 matchups featuring top 10 teams playing one another  ( #7. San Francisco @ #1. New Orleans, #10. New England @ #3 Carolina, and #5 Kansas City @ #8 Denver).

Once again it looks like things will come down to the wire in the NFC East. After today all 4 teams could be separated by 1 game in the standings. Washington is having a Deja vu type of season  after starting out 3-6 last year as well.
