In today’s NFL, the third string quarterback may be more valuable than ever before.
After Green Bay lost QB Aaron Rodgers last week to a broken/fractured collarbone on his non-throwing shoulder, the Packers went with ex-49er QB Seneca Wallace to finish last Monday’s game against Chicago. Wallace spent one week with the 49ers before asking for his release.
Wallace entered Sunday’s game against Philadelphia as the starter and finished 5 for 5 for 25 yards before leaving with a groin injury.
Enter ex-49er QB Scott Tolzien who spent 2011 and 2012 with San Francisco before being cut during the 2013 preseason. Tolzien, who attended the University of Wisconsin is the lone active quarterback on the Packers roster.
