The NFL Network on Saturday night featured the top 10 San Francisco 49ers of all-time. The all-time greatest 49ers list was featured on NFL Top 10, a documentary program on the NFL Network.

The list debuted by the show was really spot on with who they featured on the list and the order of players. There is no better debate to have between Niner fans than arguing the top 10 Niners of all-time, in addition to where they should fall on the list.

Two of the spots featured current players, while only three defensive players made the list. The Million Dollar Backfield, No. 4, included Joe Perry, John Henry Johnson, Hugh McElhenny and Y.A. Tittle, and was in existence from 1954-1960. It is the only backfield to all of its members elected to the Hall of Fame.

The Million Dollar Backfield broke the team record for rushing yards in 1954. For two straight seasons, 1953-1954, Perry ran for 1,000 yards and in 1956 he became the NFL’s all-time leading rusher.

Some notable player’s absence from the list were QB John Brodie, DE Fred Dean, and lineman Leo Nomellini.

If you missed the show it will re-air on at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Tell us your thoughts on the top 10 list in the comments.
