The San Francisco 49ers cut their roster down to 53 Saturday, but the Niners still have an eight-man practice squad to fill with players that could become a valuable asset in the future.
The 49ers have three quarterbacks on their roster and with the developmental-QB B.J. Daniels making the roster, it would be very unlikely if the Niners added a QB to their practice squad.
RB Jewel Hampton
WR Chuck Jacobs
TE MarQueis Gray
CB Marcus Cooper
CB Darryl Morris
OT Carter Bykowski
S Trenton Robinson
OT Kenny Wiggins
Those predictions probably wont be correct since they all were on the Niners roster previously and some will get signed by other teams and the Niners will bring in players from other teams, but a majority of these players will be on the practice squad.
Morris and Cooper have shown flashes as rookie cornerbacks in training camp and the Niners will be light on cornerback next year, so it’s a safe assumption that they will be on the practice squad and could be contributors next year.
