The San Francisco 49ers (1-1) third preseason game features a matchup at home against the Minnesota Vikings (0-2) on Sunday Night Football. This will be the second and last preseason game at Candlestick Park this year.
The game marks the eighth time in history the Vikings and 49ers have played one another in the preseason. The will be the third exhibition game since in 2010 between Minnesota and San Francisco. The Niners currently lead the series with a 4-3 record.
The 49ers are looking to build on their 15-13 victory last week against the Kansas City Chiefs. Rookie QB B.J. Daniels lifted the Niners to a win on 13-play, 90-yard drive late in the 4th quarter. The game-winning touchdown was 14-yard TD pass to WR Chuck Jacobs.
A big focus for Niner fans will be the wide receiver position and who will emerge at the No. 2 spot. Whoever plays the best between receivers Marlon Moore, Austin Collie and Kyle Williams on Sunday will likely start opposite Anquan Boldin in Week 1. My money is on Collie. Go 49ers!
