Denver Broncos vs. San Francisco 49ers: Game Day Information, Start Time, Where To Watch On TV & Online

Tonight is the start of the San Francisco 49ers 2013 preseason schedule with a game against the visiting Denver Broncos. This will mark the 35th time the two teams have faced off in the preseason. The Broncos have an 18-16 record against the 49ers in the preseason.

The last time the Broncos traveled to Candlestick Park for a preseason game was back in 2009. The Niners won that game, 17-16. Even though the game does not count, the first of the preseason contests are always exciting. As this will be first time Niner fans will get a glimpse of the 2013 players on the roster in full game mode.

More importantly, the game serves as an audition for position battles not only for the starters, like at cornerback and wide receiver, but for the second- and third-string players trying to make the regular season roster.

Of course, with preseason games fans don’t get to see much of the first-string starters. How long the starters will play for both the Broncos and 49ers is anyone’s guess. Starters like Colin Kaepernick will likely be on the field for one to two series of offense. While most of the offensive starters will be on the field for the Niners, don’t expect Frank Gore to see any action.
