Down in Santa Clara,CA, the San Francisco 49ers are not only constructing a new stadium, but also a new app that will give Niner fans and visitors the ultimate fan experience. Levi’s Stadium will open for the 2014 season.
With the app, Niner fans will be able to customize their game day experience at the new stadium. Fans will be able to access exclusive team content and in-stadium camera feeds for different views of the game. Other ideas being explored for the app include in-seat purchasing of concessions and the ability to find the shortest beer and bathroom lines. Genius.
The 49ers are looking to make Levi’s Stadium the most hi-tech in the league. The NFL RedZone will also be available for fans, connecting with a smartphone or tablet via the free WiFi network available at the stadium.
As much as it kills me to see the 49ers move out of San Francisco and 39 miles south to Santa Clara, the technology and game day experience that will be available for us fans at the stadium is exciting. Plus, as much as I love Candlestick Park the team is due for an upgraded stadium.
