The rivalry between the San Francisco 49ers vs. Seattle Seahawks is heating up off the field with a group of Seattle fans on Reddit trying to buy a “Go Hawks” brick at the Niners new stadium.
The 49ers are currently offering Niner fans a chance to purchase a brick for the “Fanwalk” at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. The r/Seahawks subreddit thread is taking comments on what should be on the brick, with “Go Hawks” emerging as one of the more popular suggestions.
Some of the Seahawk fans said the message on the brick should be subtle as to not make it obvious what they are trying to pull off. One user suggested, “Great Ones Have Achieved Wisdom Knowing Success.” Aka, Go Hawks.
The 49ers won’t let this stand because they reserve the right to say no to any text it wants, without any explanation. Clearly, they would reject anything resembling something of a pro-Seahawks message on a brick to be put into the stadiums “Fanwalk.”
This ploy by Seahawk fans is smart, and funny. But it won’t happen, especially as more and more people find out about this. The 49ers authorities are likely aware of the stunt and they should be on the lookout for anything representing a pro-Seahawks message on a brick.
The way I look at it is the Seahawk fans involved in this are not trying to be mischievous or have any ill will towards the 49ers. Rather, Seattle fans just want to know what it feels likes to have a Seahawks brick be placed in a team’s stadium that has actually won the Super Bowl.
I suggest all Niner fans going to the thread and give feedback. My vote is for: Go Seasucks!
