San Francisco 49ers’ Colin Kaepernick Graces the Cover of ESPN Magazine

San Francisco 49ers’ rising superstar Colin Kaepernick has had quite the offseason after the Super Bowl. From Kaepernicking with the FLOTUS, presenting at the Country Music Awards and generally living the life of a 25 year old, ripped superstar with a laser rocket arm. Now Kaepernick has graced the cover of ESPN the Magazine’s Fantasy Football Edition.

From the picture we see Kaepernick with perfect mechanics on his fake throw, looking right into the receiver (camera’s) eye about to throw one of his patented bullets right between the numbers to a Niner. Curiously, how could the NFL let him take this picture without a helmet? With the concussion issues running rampant through the NFL, you would think they would take every precaution necessary.

The 49ers only fantasy superstar the past couple years has been Frank Gore, but if Kaepernick keeps up his pace from last year, he will be the first Niner taken in Fantasy Football drafts this year and could be one of the most coveted QBs thanks to his impressive passing and his deadly running skills – especially if San Francisco expands on their Pistol Offense and Read Option schemes.

Greg Roman is no friend to fantasy football. Until the day comes where Kaepernick can pretty much call his own plays, then don’t expect great numbers.

There should be no reason why Kaepernick should not throw for over 4,000 yards + 35 throwing and 5 rushing TD’s in 2013, there is no reason why he should not run for over 600 yards.

Unless Harbaugh, Mangini, and Roman decide to get brave and open up the offense, none of this will happen.
