After posting a franchise record 19.5 sacks his past season, Aldon Smith is focusing on new training regimes to help top his 2012 performance. Part of that training includes doing Mixed Martial Arts to improve his strength and speed.

The outside linebacker is training with UFC Heavyweight Daniel Cormier. He described MMA as a way to “take it to the next level of being physical…it’s definitely a good way to stay in physical shape.” He also said about the training, “In football you use your hands and feet so much, they definitely do it a lot in this sport.”
