Other than the required post-game interviews, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has not said much about the Super Bowl loss. After falling five yards short of completing the biggest comeback in Super Bowl history, Kaepernick has kept a low profile.
Avoiding the spotlight includes rejecting invitations to the Grammys and Oscars. The Sacramento Bee reported Kaepernick said no to going to the two award shows. The quarterback is instead focused on his off-season training. He is in Atlanta training at Competitive Edge Sports Performance.
You have to applaud Kaepernick for focusing solely on training for the upcoming season to redeem the heartbreaking loss in the Super Bowl. It is not a surprise he turned down the invitations, but it is easy for a quarterback to get caught up in everything that comes with appearing in a Super Bowl. This should be reassuring for Niner fans that our quarterback is already gearing up for the 2013 season and he is resisting the attention that comes with being a sports celebrity.
In the Super Bowl Kaepernick threw for 302 yards and a touchdown while running for 62 yards and a rushing touchdown.
