My 49ers Offseason Wish List

Every 49er fan has an off season wish list.  Each year I have a bad habit of secretly wishing for the big splash.  I had to fight the Nnamdi Asomugha urges last off season on a daily basis.  This year Niner Nation, I’m warding off the temptation.  I feel strongly that this team only needs to make adjustments before next season.  I also don’t want us to go down the road of signing veterans to large contracts. Who are at the end of their road, to win us a championship now, costing us dearly in the future.  Somewhere, I hope your reading this Carmen Policy.

My wish list is simple this year Niner Nation.  And it’s after the jump

Wish #1: Consistency in the coaching staff.  I wish for no 49ers coaches (at least no important ones ie. coordinators and respected position coaches) to get promotions with other teams.  For once I’d like to see the Niners make it through an off season without a coaching search.  Don’t get me wrong, Brad Seely deserves a head coaching job.  Jim Tomsula and Ed Donatelle deserve defensive coordinator jobs.  Tom Rathman deserves his chance to run an offense.  I just don’t want them get it.  Call it a selfish wish if you want, go ahead, I don’t care.

Wish #2: I don’t want any of our top players that made this season so special to go away.  I can live with a Joshua Morgan or a Ted Ginn Jr (or a KYLE WILLIAMS!) leaving town.  But please, let’s re-sign Alex Smith, Dashon Goldson, Carlos Rogers and Ahmad Brooks ASAP please.

Wish #3: I want the stadium mess to just go away.  I want to hear good things about the football side of the team from now on.  I’m sick of hearing about stadium financing issues.  Santa Clara residents getting upset.  Stadium naming rights, seating costs, parking, hotels, blah, blah, blah.

Wish #4: I want some more Trent Baalke magic this year.  Drafting Aldon Smith in the first round.  Finding Chris Culliver in the fifth.  Taking Bruce Miller a defensive end in college and making him a fullback.  Refusing to give into fan pressure and signing the perfect free agents, at the perfect time.  I want it all again ok Trent.

Wish #5:  Cut Kyle Williams

I think it is time to forgive Kyle Williams! He is just a kid and is very coachable! It destroyed me too to see the ball just slip away with our Super Bowl Hopes! But did all of his talent and great things that the coaches seen in him go with it? I think not, I am sure he was devastated and will learn from this and hopefully he gets an oppertunity to redeem himself! We also forgot to run the ball late in the game does that mean we fire whoever is responsible for that?

think about it this way. erasing Williams from the team erases the memory of him blowing our super bowl bid. Just like a kicker man, if they miss a 30 yarder to would get you to the big game, he’s done, simple as that.
