Indeed. Couldn't agree more. In any game, it's wrong to make the kicker (as in NE-Baltimore) the goat on the last play of a game. During a game, myriad mistakes are committed by many players, mostly not as visible. If those mistakes hadn't been made beforehand, it should never have come to the critical play such as a muffed punt. Kyle Williams was making good returns before then, so we should not blame him. Overall, our special teams were excellent. The main weakness we had all season was an anemic offense, one which could neither run the ball consistently to keep it away from the opposing QB, nor a passing game which would shred the secondary. That is what we have to focus on for next year. We will need: 1) Strong back-ups for center, tackle, and guard when ours get hurt. 2) A backup fullback for Brett Miller; we should not underestimate the position if he goes down 3) Another tall, strong T.O.-type wideout (without the mouth); 4) Another tall, strong corner to back up either Brown or Rogers 5) Another safety to back up Goldson/Whitner 6) A beefy nose tackle to spell Isaac. 7) Maybe we need a return specialist who does that only. 8) Don't forget to get a long-snapper to eventually replace Jennings, who's been superb but is getting up there.

All in all, a fantastic season to smile back upon. Expectations for next season will now be higher. Baalke, Harbaugh & co. can be proud of what they accomplished. I look forward to the draft and next year with confidence. Go 'Niners !
