Agree with you, Eric.

Of course we have to get through this year respectably (at least 12-4, win the wild card and / or div game, at least get to the NFC conf final.) That would be a very respectable season (though I can't stand overbearing Cheeseheads, they'll get their due once their free agents start leaving.)

Though I've been beating on this like a gong, we need better O-line play. No red-zone threat. Way too many sacks. Particularly the right side - A. Davis, C. Rachal, not up to snuff. We need to draft a big, tough center and OT in the 1st and second rounds, try out Pearson and Kilgore at guard, and move Goodwin and Snyder to back-up. Though they've been respectable, they're not up to pushing around elite D-lineman.

Then turn our attention to a real shut-down CB and safety, also a back-up for J. Smith.

Btw, if we can't get Luck or Barkley, we need to sign Alex for just one more year, then let CK and Tolzien take over. Alex will have had a good career, and unless he wants to go back to SD as a back-up, he can retire comfortably in the Bay Area, he won't be hurting.

Otherwise, I've loved the play of the rest of the team this year.

We're good again - finally - but if we want to be great at the next level, that's what we'll need next year.

Regardless, I would LOVE to see us clean Pittsburgh's plough next week, even if we had to lose the Seattle or St. Louis game instead (perish the thought).

GO 'NINERS, I'm with you all the way !!!

49ers are just using the rest of these games to open it up and try to expand the offense. I have a feeling come playoff time the niners will be great in the RZ and be a much more ball controlled running offense. at least that is what i wish to happen.
