Eagles Quarter Back Michael Vick has suffered 2 serious injuries in the season’s first 3 weeks first a concussion then a badly bruised right hand last week. Vick’s injury was at first believed to be a fracture that would have cost him 3-6 weeks of the season was later revealed to only be a bruise but a bad one at that. Still Vick has practiced all week and expressed confidence that he will play Sunday vs San Francisco even going as far as saying he’s “100 percent” sure he will play Sunday.
If it were up to 49ers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh not surprisingly Vick would take the day off.
“I think with the (concussion) he had two weeks ago, and with the hand injury he had this week, it would probably be the prudent thing to rest him,”
It’s too bad Vick doesn’t take orders from Harbaugh. Instead Vick who has an endorsement contract with Unequal Technologies, which specializes in impact-absorbing sports equipment will wear a protective Kevlar Glove on his right non-throwing hand.
Meanwhile 49ers Running Back Frank Gore is dealing with an ankle injury of his own and might not be available Sunday. Gore added:
“I don’t know, man,” Gore told Comcast SportsNet Bay Area. “I really don’t know. If I can’t go, I can’t go.“
In other 49er notes Safety Donte Whitner has been limited in practice all week with a hip injury. Left Guard Mike Iupati was also listed on the injury report with a neck injury but has been a full participant in practice.
