Another coaching blunder? 49ers didn't see Crabtree replay on time

49ers coach Jim Harbaugh didn’t throw the challenge flag when Michael Crabtree made a leaping 10 yard touchdown reception that was called back for illeagle touching.

“We had no replay view of it,” Harbaugh said “The official threw his hat early, so figured he saw it. Then you think, we’ll just challenge it anyway jut to see if they come up with a view we’re not seeing.”

My question to you Harbaugh is why didn’t you throw the flag then?  The 49ers were desperate for a TD at that point and Crabtree’s great catch could have been a huge momentum swing in the game.

The real problem I see here is that the 49ers do not have someone hired sitting in a booth watching replays from multiple angles the second any type of disputable play occurs.  Then the coach would have some sort of clue if he can’t see himself on the field.  The Colts just hired former Ohio St. HC Jim Tressell to fill this very position for there team.  I’m not saying the 49ers need to go out and hire someone that high profile for a job that can’t be that hard.  All you need is someone to watch a bunch of HDTV monitors that I’m sure technicians can zoom in and change around for you and make a quick call to the HC.  Hey Jim, if you need somebody buddy I’m available.  Hit me on twitter.
