All is right in the NFL world as the first set of preseason games get underway on Thursday night. The San Francisco 49ers start their preseason against the Saints in New Orleans on Friday with kickoff at 5:00pm (PST). Check back here tomorrow for a game preview. With the NFL lockout and free agency beginning less than three weeks ago and training camp shortly after it has been exciting. I don’t think I have ever been more excited for a preseason game than any point in my life. 49er fans will get our first look at Jim Harbaugh’s offense, Vic Fangio’s defense, rookies Aldon Smith and Colin Kaepernick, not to mention the 49ers new and improved secondary and someone named Braylon Edwards. Eric Melendez has been a life-long 49ers fan that bleeds Red and Gold. While
growing up in Orange, CA he was behind enemy lines when the Rams played in
Anaheim in the ’80s and most of the ’90s. This however allowed him to see the 49ers
every year when they came into town as his dad had season tickets for the Rams.
Having lived in San Francisco since 2008, his appreciation for the Niners has only
grown as he is able to cheer on the 49ers with locals at the bar and attend home
games.
