49ers star running back Frank Gore’s 2010 season was ended prematurely when he fractured his right hip in week 12. Gore is no stranger to injury. He was hurt the majority of his college career at University of Miami and has only played 16 games in a season one time in his six year NFL career.
Agent Drew Rosenhaus gushed about Gore after watching him work out recently,
“He’s never looked better! I watched Frank Gore work out and he is 100% healthy and fully recovered from his hip injury”
Gore enters a crucial contract season in which he will have to prove to the franchise that he is worth another contract as he approaches 30. The team added Kendall Hunter and Anthony Dixon the last two years to take some of the workload from Gore.
As the team installs Jim Harbaugh’s version of the West Coast Offense a stable running game will be extremely critical to the team’s success. This will likely be a defining year for Frank Gore in SF as it could prove to be his last as a 49er. Or could this be the year the offense finally clicks and Gore shines in the spotlight of the playoffs?
