49ers Trade Up in Second Round Select QB Colin Kaepernick

The 49ers traded with the Broncos for their number 4 pick in the second round.  The 49ers also  gave up their fourth and fifth round picks.  With the Bengals selecting quarterback Andy Dalton the 49ers knew they could not wait around until they picked at number 13.  The 49ers selected Nevada’s QB Colin Kaepernick.

This is Jim Harbaugh project now.  At 6-5, 233 pounds Kaepernick has the physical tools to play quarterback in the NFL but is raw when it comes to making reads and throws.  Kaepernick has good arm strength and can make plays with his feet but needs to improve his overall accucracy.

Here is the 49ers quarterback of the future, now will Alex Smith be the quarterback of the present/for the next season.

I hope Colin wins the starting job. As an important #2 pick, he should. I cannot stand anymore of Alex Smith. SF should let him walk and pickup a decent vet.

i couldn’t disagree with your more Mr Jack. We need to develope Colin the right way. Not the same way we tried to develope Alex Smith. Get a vet, start the vet until Harbaugh thinks he can start. No QB in this entire draft class is ready to start right now.
