Third-string quarterback Troy Smith will start the game in London on Sunday. Alex Smith will be out two to three weeks with a separated left shoulder. Mike Singletary apparently has given up on second stringer David Carr. I don’t blame Singletary with the way Carr played in relief but I am not sure what to make of Smith, the Troy, starting. It seems like the move is an experiment to mimic a Michael Vick type offense but why experiment now? If Singletary is trying to think outside of the box why not throw Nate Davis in there? I don’t think there is a single quarterback on the roster Singletary has faith in. This is a shot in the dark and erratic.
More to come…
