Trick or treat! The NFL announced that the 49ers and Broncos will be the two teams squaring off against each in London, England on October 31. In what has become a yearly tradition for the NFL the 49ers will once again represent San Francisco and the NFL on an international stage. Back in 2005 the Niners played the Cardinals in Mexico City at Azteca Stadium in front of 103, 467 fans. The game was the first time an NFL regular season game was played on international soil. Surprisingly this will be the 49ers 10th game playing outside of the United States. The 49ers will be playing at Wembley Stadium for the third time as they played preseason games back in 1988 and 1992.
So Niner Faithful since the game is on Halloween, is this a trick or a treat? It is great that the 49ers will get to play on an international stage but the Niners are losing a home game next year because they are hosting the Broncos in London. Remember the Niners were 1-5 on the road this year and since it is a home game although they are playing in London this might be more of a trick than a treat.
