Say goodbye to the 49ers playoff hopes and hello to the off-season. Technically the 49ers still have a chance and the last four games are must wins, especially on Monday night against the Cardinals. However with the numerous ways the 49ers lost to the Seahawks on Sunday, their inability to win games on the road and the 49ers STILL unable to close out games for the win why should this team still be considered a playoff team? They are not and everyone not on the 49ers roster or apart of the organization believes that including me. We were given hope by Mike Singletary at the beginning of the year that this would be a playoff team because of the run/smash mouth football the 49ers offense would run. Now with a new identity as a pass first team the Niners need to take what they learned this season and with emerging offensive weapons in Alex Smith, Michael Crabtree and Vernon Davis put in place the tools needed to win the division next year.

Eric Melendez has been a life-long 49ers fan that bleeds Red and Gold. While growing up in Orange, CA he was behind enemy lines when the Rams played in Anaheim in the ’80s and most of the ’90s. This however allowed him to see the 49ers every year when they came into town as his dad had season tickets for the Rams. Having lived in San Francisco since 2008, his appreciation for the Niners has only grown as he is able to cheer on the 49ers with locals at the bar and attend home games.
