Glad the '9ers won the opener. Defense as a whole played well. And Vernon Davis finally showed up, keep it up. But if that play on Hill had been called a fumble instead of incomplete forward pass, we would have lost the game. Proves my point again: allowing 4 (almost 5) sacks is too many. We should stop leading the league in that category. Need more O-line strength and depth. If Crabtree continues to hold out, can't that free up some free-agent money?

Agree on most things about your offensive analysis. However, I am less optimistic about our O-line. We should have addressed this in the draft and, once again, we didn't. Should have drafted another guard and another tackle in the first 3 rounds. Instead we have an egotistical greedy holdout of a wide receiver on paper. And now I hear we're looking for a blocking tight end, after letting draft pick Pascoe go. We are not the '85 Bears, and never will be. Stop trying to turn the 9'ers into something we're not. We need to get back to the West Coast and a passing game. Btw, Jason Hill and Josh Morgan are the starters of the future, I don't know why they can't recognize that and keep messing around with Arnaz Battle and Brandon Jones - 2nd team at best. I was hoping for an 8-8 season, but now think it will be less due to the schedule, improvements in the NFC West, and neglecting the O-line. Listen to me in the draft next year.
