Mike Singletary diplomatically says Michael Crabtree is in the back of his and the teams mind. He comments about a minute into the video: ESPN Video
A lot of people are saying even if Crabtree does not back what his adviser said about sitting out the season to make a statement like that so early in the contract negotiations is ridiculous. The fact that this is the biggest sports story regarding the 49ers is ridiculous. Some sort of news will happen this weekend regarding MCT. I will be out of town this weekend and back on Monday with any news and reactions to the MCT saga.
The competition between QB Shaun Hill and Alex Smith is too close to call: 49ers.com
Wide receiver Brandon Jones sprained his right shoulder in practice yesterday while diving for a pass. Coach Singletary is becoming notorious for his physical training camp. I do not think Singletary is over doing it, this is football so injuries will happen, but the 49ers have had injuries to notable players:
LB Patrick Willis, sprained ankle, has not practiced since first day of camp.
LG David Baas, strained left foot, is walking with a boot.
RB Michael Robinson, strained groin, will be out of sometime.
RG Chilo Rachal, migraine, out since Tuesday.
FB Moran Norris, strained hamstring.
CB Tarell Brown, toe injury.
