Yes, Glen Coffee was selected by the Niner's to keep Gore fresh. He has history of getting injured by with the offensive lineman improving, getting rid of the pass happy Martz offense and an emphasis on the run with new coordinator Jimmy Raye, Gore can top the his previous career high in rushing and reach 1,800 yards with same amount of carries he had in the past. Gore was quoted as saying his legs are fresh this year.

1,800 may be asking a lot but he has Moran Norris back as his fullback so the potential is there.

Whoa now... I am a huge Gore fan, but 1,800 yards? That's pushing it. Gore is an amazing running back, but he has been injured so many times, and this year will not be an exception. The reason we picked up two more running backs is to prevent him from getting injured by not having him in every play. We put him in a position to make 1,800+ yards, and we'll be out a running back by week 8.

I am really hoping that he'll top 1,000 yards, but lets not push it. We can have Hill throwing passes to Bruce, Morgan, and Jones (my picks for starters) for short gains, and hand the ball off to Gore/Coffee the rest.
