Singletary’s Pants on Fire

It has been reported and confirmed by Mike Singletary on 49ers.com the head coach dropped his pants in a halftime speech to make a point that the 49ers were getting their a$$ beat. Singletary dropped his pants, with his boxers on, and pointed to his rear-end.

“I used my pants to illustrate that we were getting our tails whipped on Sunday and how humiliating that should feel for all of us. I needed to do something to dramatize my point; there were other ways I could have done it, but I think this got the message across.”

The 49ers and especially Vernon Davis did not get the message as they lost the game. Although I guess it somewhat worked as the 49ers scored their only touchdown of the game in the third quarter and had more yards in the second half (198) than they gained in first half (134).

If anything I want Singletary to remain the head coach in the future to see what Jim Mora/Dennis Green like rants we can get from him. So far he has done a great job channeling past press conference meltdowns. I am sure the 49ers will provide more reasons for Singletary to go off in the second half of the season.
