Takeo Spikes Signs with 49ers

Eleven year veteran Takeo Spikes signed with the 49ers late Sunday night. He participated in his first workout with the team on Monday. Spikes visited with the 49ers in March but went unsigned and said he wanted to go to a team that gave him the best chance to win a Super Bowl. Let’s hope he found that team in the 49ers. As of now he will have to work to challenge LB Jeff Ulbrich at the TED position (inside linebacker).

Spikes was with the Eagles the last year before he was released. He should have no problem getting assimilated with the team as has teammates with safety Mark Roman and DE Justin Smith with the Bengals and CB Nate Clements and LT Jonas Jennings with the Bills. Spikes will add experience that will help the line backing crew as he competes for a starting spot.

New Poll:

I added a new poll. Who should be the 49ers starting QB for the regular season? Sound off in the forums.
