49ers Claim LaJuan Ramsey Off Waivers; Add International Flavor

The Red and Gold claimed former Philadelphia Eagles LaJuan Ramsey off waivers today. Ramsey is a 6-3, 300 pound defensive tackle who played in nine games last season. Ramsey brings experience in winning championships having won two national championships with USC. Let’s see if he can win a spot on the team and make an impact.

The 49ers also added Tackle Ramiro Pruneda. Pruneda won four Mexican national championships while attending college at Monterrey Tech where he was named best offensive lineman in Mexico three times. He joins the team in training camp as part of the NFL International Practice Squad Program. At 6-6, 317 pounds, Pruneda spent last season on the Chiefs and Eagles practice squad. His chances of making the team are slim however he brings an international flavor to the team. Pruneda will most likely land on the 49ers practice squad.
